Customer Service

Shipping within New Zealand

We ship either by courier or NZ Post. These options are presented in the shopping cart which can then give you an immediate price.

NZ Post deliveries should arrive within 3 working days to all non rural areas, a few days more may be required where the address is remote.

The courier service delivers next day Monday to Friday to all non rural destinations for the North Island and 1 to 2 working days for South Island. Deliveries to rural addresses or over a weekend may take longer. Signature is required on delivery. If you know that nobody will be there on the day then you can either leave a note for the courier specifying a place to leave the package or tell us and we can add an instruction to the delivery address. This is at your risk.

Shipping outside New Zealand

We will ship to almost any country, a full list is included in the shipping section of our checkout page. We mainly use NZ Post for our international deliveries but can arrange other options to suit your needs and budget. For machines over 25kg weight we will need to quote specific options. The International Express option for upto 25kg is door to door, relatively quick and includes tracking and insurance.

Returns / Repairs

Firstly, choose your purchase carefully. Read the specs and if you need to know something then please ask us - we are here to help. If we can we will help arrange a demo. You need to be certain that this is the machine you want and that it will do the type of work you want it to do. We do not refund if you have changed your mind or suddenly find that the $300 machine your have purchased doesn't have the same functionality as the $900 one you would really like.....

Damage in Transit. - If your order is received damaged you must let us know immediately so we can initiate a claim with the freight company. You need to do this within 48 hours of recieving the goods. Inspect the goods when they arrive.  Take photos if there is damage. Point out the damage to the delivery person and write on the delivery docket  a basic desciption of the damage before it is signed. This is your responsibility. It becomes very differcult to prove the damage was caused in transit if you do not inspect straight away. Claims for damage outside this period will not be accepted.

Warranty. - The warranty period wil be stated for each product and will depend on its use. Domestic machines used for industrial type purposes will only qualify for an Industrial Warranty. All Warranties will exclude freight, user caused faults and any misuse and of course exclude any consumable parts or accessories (lightbulbs, needles, stitch plates, bobbins etc.). All service work during the warranty period must be performed by a service person approved by us or the warranty will be void. Goods returned for service under the warranty must be returned postage paid, ideally for best protection in the original packaging, but failing that then well protected to prevent any possible damage in transit.

Talk to us first if you have a problem. All machines are inspected and test sewn by us before we dispatch them so we are pretty confident that when you recieve your machine it will be working the way it is supposed to. We have found that 95% of problems with machines are caused by user error. This is not a blame game, it is just a fact. Often it is something simple or a combination of little things that are causing the issues. We can supply advice and tip sheets to help you resolve any such problems. Check out the help and support area. It is all a learning experience and we are happy to help. Having said that they are machines and like all machines occasionally something can go wrong. If it does we will deal with it as quickly as possible for you. By talking with us we will establish the best course of action and if need be sort out where you can return the machine for service.

We will use our best endevours and depending on the fault either repair or replace your machine for you. But if we find that the fault has been caused by the user and is not a fault with the machine then we reserve the right to charge you for any work we have to do to remedy the fault. If it is minor and not time consuming we will often just do it for free. If we decide we need to charge we will first inform you of what we have found and give you a quote to remedy. Any such work will need to be paid for before the machine is returned.

As well as the warranty offered by us all goods on the site are sold under the principles of the New Zealand Fair Trading and Consumer Guarantees Acts. For further information please see the Ministry of Consumer Affairs Website
